This project is based in Costa Rica with Royal College of Arts and Stampede International; a global non profit that protects and conserves wildlife.

​

The goal of the project was to investigate responsible travel in & to ensure that this growing travel sector is has a measurable, sustainable and positive effect on wildlife and local communities. 

​

Project deliverable: To provide guidance for travellers, travel companies and destinations with fragile ecosystems.

Background & Impact : Defining project context and future impact

Post-pandemic, responsible travel surged, with a 61% rise in sustainable travel searches. Projected growth of 9.54% yearly till 2027
(approx $335.93 bn globally) underscores its significance.
New responsible travel companies emerged, offering sustainable trips. Destinations like Costa Rica saw a rise in sustainable wildlife experiences.


Yet, questions linger about the depth of this trend and its impact on communities and fragile environments.

Real-Time Suggestions: Focused on promoting unexplored locations and local businesses.

Wildlife Education: Articles on how to interact with the biodiversity in CR.

Community: Building a strong network of authentic suggestions and reviews through building a backpacker community.
